Free Counselling Through Gambling Support BC

If you’re struggling with gambling or affected by someone else’s gambling, support is available free of charge, confidential, and designed to meet your needs.

I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Vancouver’s Fairview neighbourhood and qualified to provide counselling services through the Gambling Support BC program. Whether you’re looking for in-person support or prefer virtual sessions from anywhere in BC, I’m here to help.

What Is Gambling Support BC?

Gambling Support BC offers clinical counselling and outreach services to individuals and families affected by gambling. Services are available across the province and are delivered by trained professionals who use a collaborative, outcome-focused approach.

These services are part of the Government of BC’s broader Responsible Gambling Strategy, aimed at reducing the incidence and impacts of gambling-related harm.

What Kind of Support Is Available?

Clinical counselling services include:

  • Individual counselling
  • Couples and family counselling
  • Group therapy
  • An intensive day treatment program

Counselling is delivered in person or virtually via telephone or video conferencing, depending on your needs and location.

Evidence-Based Approach

All counselling through Gambling Support BC uses Feedback Informed Treatment (FIT). This model emphasizes collaboration between you and your counsellor to track progress and ensure your goals remain at the centre of care.

Who Can Access Services?

If you’re in BC and concerned about your own or someone else’s gambling, you’re welcome to access these services. You don’t need a formal diagnosis or to be in crisis to begin counselling.

  • Are experienced in addressing gambling-related concerns and co-occurring issues
  • Work independently while participating in a province-wide support network
  • Are required to maintain appropriate office space, confidentiality, and professional standards
